In order to give a fair critique, first required me to familiarise myself with examples of Frank Frazetta, the artist this piece was dedicated to.

After finding out more, such as the connections to comics such as Conan the barbarian, certain connection are quickly made. But first the art style itself.

All art has its own style, even those that are a tribute piece, have their own style which is both blatantly obvious and subtle. the situation can relate to the absence of colour, as combat/war is one of darkness and haze which the colours/absence of as well as the twisted and lightly detailed back ground, all which brilliantly captures the individual perspective, both the clear focus on your goal and their lack of awareness that surrounds one.

The details of the work matches Frank Frazetta style very closely in style and setting, and I assume as a tribute to Conan maybe (though never saw him in a helmet (never read enough though), though I find the characters more defined and less hazy than those of Frank Frazetta.

Ultimately, I find that this piece has a style of its own, and one that can rival Frank Frazetta. Ultimately I find it a though provoking and clean cut piece that conveys some emotion whilst capturing the a perspective on combat, though it doesn't obviously relay that it's a tribute to someone else's work.

Regardless, art is art and there is little that can be faulted by an ammeter such as myself, and the final critique should rest with the artist themselves.

Hope it's of some semblance of sense and help,
Regards, Sangenjin.
