An autumn's day watch

Wow! The rendering on this image is amazing. I just keep looking at all the details. The bricks and their structure and how some of them have kind of broken, the cracks on the floor and wall, the grass closeby, all the different textures on the figure and the layering of his clothes, the small waves on the water, the trees in the distance, the structure of the fog and clouds and the mountains peeking out. That all looks awesome! Good job!

What is missing in this piece is atmospheric perspective. General rule is the further away something is the lighter it will be. The shading you did on the far off shoreline and the even further off mountains have the same intensity as the shading on the close by character: it is almost black. To give more the illusion of distance, the values of the far away background elements should be a lot lighter, especially with all that fog.
